5 questions with Nordic CEO Bruce Cerullo

Earlier this month, Bruce Cerullo was named Nordic’s CEO. Here’s your chance to get to know him a little better.

Why did you come to Nordic?

It was one of those situations where my personal interests and objectives aligned perfectly with the professional opportunity. I was well rested from my last full-time leadership role and had spent the last three-plus years studying the Healthcare IT sector looking for an interesting opportunity to invest my time and energy. Along came the chance to join Nordican amazing success story to datewith potential to do even more to meet the needs of healthcare organizations and our consultants that serve them.

Bruce-Head-Shot.jpgWhat are you most looking forward to with Nordic?

Serving and mentoring our team. I wouldn’t have joined Nordic were I not extremely impressed with the caliber of people who populate each part of the organization. I also thought Nordic was very well positioned to build out additional services in support of our hospital clients' mission of delivering high-quality care in a cost-effective manner. To remain competitive in a fee-for-value world, there’s no escaping the fact that these clients have to maximize the ROI on their IT investment by better capturing, analyzing, and using data. And Nordic is extremely well positioned to help them.

What do you think sets Nordic apart?

Performance is reality. In a competitive landscape populated by “résumé mill” agencies and very expensive “strategic advisory firms,” Nordic has consistently performed at a very high level as is evidenced by its consecutive years of both No. 1 ranking in KLAS and Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work. Our team-oriented culture, incredibly deep Epic domain expertise, diverse service offerings, and innovative consultant/client economic model have proven a winning combination. My first goal as Nordic’s new leader is to not mess that up!

Where do you see clients benefiting from Nordic in the next few years?

Nordic has arrived at its current market-dominant position by continually listening to clients and consultants and innovating. There is no shortage of great ideas for future growth and diversification among the Nordic team. As the new guy, my path forward is to first look, listen, and learn; and then, along with my teammates, plot the best plan for our future to ensure Nordic is continually positioned to solve client problems and meet their needs. Kindly stay tuned for the specifics.

What’s the one thing you want clients and prospects to know about you?

I was raised by a high school janitor and hospital pharmacy department secretary. From them I learned to take pride in serving others and how every employee of a hospital can positively impact patients and their families. While the work we do at Nordic is technology focused, our mission and our success boils down to serving people in need and their loved ones with a passion.
