Tuesday, a Nordic team from the Madison office made it's way to the southwest side of Madison to work on a pretty cool construction site for Habitat for Humanity. It was day two of our Community Giveback Week. We also had projects taking place in Boston and LA. We'll get you caught up on those projects in a few days.
The Habitat site on which we worked was a row of four new home constructions with a huge green space built behind the homes. What an awesome opportunity for these families!
We stopped to chat with Bethany Klein, the development director for Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. Watch the video below to hear her talk about the project and the impact it will have on the community.
Here are a couple staggering statistics from our conversation:
- Six out of 10 families cannot find affordable housing in Dane County.
- For every one family served, an additional six families in that neighborhood are impacted.
